Maia McKinley (she/her) is a 19 year old multi-instrumentalist and musician. She is interested in using music to express her innermost feelings, which are often ineffable, in the form of abstract sound. In doing this she blends the genres techno (specifically detroit techno), hardcore, idm and elements of avant garde modern genres like hyperpop and it’s adjacent sub-genres. Her unique blend of influences makes for a unique and interesting sound palette which she has solidified in a new genre that she is pioneering, known as “Bimbo Beat”.
