Lighthouse Young Creatives Update

It's less than a month to go until our Lighthouse Young Creatives Showcase at Phoenix Art Space! Our LYC cohort is busy getting ready to present to the public all the artwork they’ve been developing throughout the six-month programme.

Our young people have been exploring a range of creative approaches, from writing original songs to making short films across a variety of genres, including drama shorts, poetry films and music videos. Others have been experimenting with both digital and analogue photography and even VR design!

Ahead of collectively exhibiting their work, the cohort has also been learning about the art of curation, carefully contemplating how each artwork impacts the next, and deliberating how differing stories might be conveyed depending on which pieces they place in proximity.

Promotional strategy is also vital to consider when putting on a public event, and the young people are getting to grips with this too. They’re even planning an Instagram takeover across the showcase weekend … watch this space!

Here are a few behind-the-scenes photos of their work in progress recently.
