Lighthouse is an arts charity that provides an accessible programme of talks, exhibitions, commissions, talent development and education initiatives. By hiring one of our spaces, you are helping to support our artistic programme and charitable activities.

Located in the heart of the North Laine, Brighton’s vibrant cultural quarter, surrounded by great shops and cafés, Lighthouse is just a ten-minute walk from the train station and the sea front.

We have three spaces available to hire:

Conference Room

Mon-Fri: Half Day £160+VAT / Full Day £290+VAT

Natural light and airy, this flexible room can be used for meetings, training events, workshops and presentations. Air-conditioned with wifi.

To allow for physical distancing of 1 meter, the capacities of the Conference Room are as below.

Digital Lounge

Mon-Fri: Half Day £160+VAT / Full Day £290+VAT

A large multi-purpose space in the basement, suitable for presentations, talks, panel discussions, workshops and private screening events. Air-conditioned with wifi.

To allow for physical distancing of 1 meter, the capacities of the Digital Lounge are as below.

Reception Area

Available for breakouts and catering when you book our Digital Lounge or Conference Room. The space is shared with the wonderful Afrori bookshop from Tuesday - Saturday (10:30am - 5:30pm). The space can also be hired for events in the evenings and on Sundays and Mondays. Please contact the events team on info@lighthouse.org.uk to enquire about bookings during these times.

Please note that we are not able to accommodate public screenings and exhibitions that are not part of Lighthouse’s artistic programme.


• Individual water jugs and glasses will be made available for all attendees

• You are welcome to bring your own drinks and lunches with you.

All meeting rooms come equipped with high-speed wifi, air conditioning, a flip chart and stationary, ceiling mounted data projectors and speakers.

You can hire out equipment for your needs; these include:

(Mac): £10+VAT
Technical Support is £20+VAT per hour (bookable for 4 hours minimum)

Please note: It will be necessary to book a Technician if your event involves a technical set-up and you are bringing in lots of your own equipment or you require AV support throughout your event.

All prices exclude VAT.
Charity/Non-profit discount 25% on room hire rate only.

Room hire cancellation policy

Less than 48 hours notice: 80% of room hire and equipment costs.
Less than 5 days notice: 30% of room hire and equipment costs.


Our venue is fully wheelchair accessible. A maximum of two wheelchairs are allowed at a time in the Digital Lounge. Please get in touch to discuss any access needs via info@lighthouse.org.uk or by calling 01273 647197.

Environmental Sustainability

We are committed to minimising the adverse impact of our activities on the environment. Our Action Plan details the steps taken to ensure our operations are as sustainable as possible.

Evening & Weekends: Our standard opening hours are 0900-1730 Monday to Friday. Our venue is available to hire outside of these hours, subject to availability, get in touch for more details.

Covid-19 Safety Measures

We recognise the importance of maintaining customer confidence in our ability to keep our spaces clean and secure. Measures currently in place include:

· Wearing face coverings in communal areas

· Not entering the building with Covid symptoms

· Room hire capacities limited to accommodate physical distancing of 1 metre+

· Contact tracing is in place

· Hand sanitiser available throughout the building

· Enhanced cleaning procedures

· Rooms well ventilated, with fresh air rather than recycled

· Events team wear face coverings in event spaces and take lateral flow tests twice weekly

· Covid risk assessment of venue reviewed and ratified by external Health & Safety advisor
