VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – ALTERNATE REALITIES
For the 2018 Brighton Digital Festival, Lighthouse is presenting selected works from the Sheffield Doc/Fest Alternate Realities exhibition, which premiered at the internationally renowned documentary festival in June.
Exploring the themes of borders, identity, and loss, the works each show how immersive and interactive technologies enable us to interpret and engage with socio-political infrastructures, storytelling and the interface of physical and digital worlds. Each work uses a different technological platform to explore the ideas – gaming, AR, social media and interactive installation.

What we are looking for:
We are looking for volunteers to invigilate these works while on display at Lighthouse during the Brighton Digital Festival, September 19-30. Lighthouse is seeking people that have a interest in immersive and interactive technologies. This role will include handling a HoloLens and full training will be provided. We are also looking for volunteers to assist with the installation and setup of the exhibition. This will be a great chance to see behind the scenes and learn what it takes to exhibit interactive works.
Dates and Time:
We are ideally looking for volunteers who can work at least two full days.
Exhibition Installation: 19th – 20th September 11 – 5pm (with 1 hour lunch break)
Training day: 21st September 11am-12:00pm
Private View: 21st September 3:00-8:00pm (with 30 min break)
Exhibition open to the public: 22nd – 30th September 11-6pm (with 30 min lunch break)
