Back in the 80's, Australian performance artist Stelarc made a name for himself with his outrageous body suspension performances in which he would suspend his naked body from high places using hooks through his skin.
Over the next 30 years, his interest in the 'evolutionary architecture of the human body' saw him create bizarre robotic body modification machines that he used in extraordinary performances at galleries and art shows around the globe.
Unafraid to suffer for his art, Stelarc even had a a tiny metallic sculpture plunged down his throat and into his stomach - the whole thing filmed with a surgical camera.
But it is his latest project, THE EXTRA EAR, that is causing a combination of shock, horror and fascination the world over.
Documentary Filmmaker Nick Ahlmark filmed Stelarc as he set up a retrospective exhibition of his work at an art gallery in Paris over Easter 2009.
So watch on in disbelief - it's time to find out about the man behind the ear...
(Nick will also be showing three of his other short documentaries BARRY COX: THE CHINESE DREAM, THE MONSTERS OF MIAMI and RUDELY INTERRUPTED.)

A 25-minute documentary film storying the creation of the controversial 2007 graffiti artworks in Kensington Street, Brighton.
The artwork was commissioned by Brighton & Hove City Council as a solution to the deteriorating condition of the central Brighton street. Kensington Street is now widely regarded as one of the major tourist attractions in the city. This is the first chance to see the film.
Three daytime screenings will start from 12:30pm, and in the evening a Showcase screening at 7:30pm followed by a Q&A with all the featured artists. On the same day, there will also be a daytime exhibition in the gallery featuring work on canvas, and exhibits by all the featured artists. There will also be an installation in the conference room. If that's not enough, the artists will also be re-painting Kensington Street right outside Lighthouse all day.
