OPEN SESSIONS #7
Artwork & Design For Music

In this Open Session we talk to artists about creating designs for music, including album covers and posters. Hear from artist Eva Bowan and Junior Art Director at It’s Nice That, William Knight. They will talk through how they got into what they do and the different career pathways into artwork and design. Eva and William will talk us through selected pieces of their work, followed by drinks and a chance to ask questions.

Meet the speakers:

EVA BOWAN

Eva is a Polish born UK based multidisciplinary artist working with Graphic Design, Photography, Sound and Video.
Her interest lies in combining analogue and digital techniques, both in visual and sonic art, leading to exciting fusions of organic textures with digital elements and glitch. In her work she explores the themes of escapism, abandonment and spirituality in nature.
Her clients include: Sony Music Entertainment, BMG, Metal Blade Records, Tru Thoughts Records, Rise Records, Vice, DIY Magazine, Lovers & Lollypops, TripTik Management, Small Pond Recordings, SIREN and Fujiya&Miyagi.

WILL KNIGHT

Will is a London-based Art Director and Designer. After graduating in Graphic Design from The University of Brighton Will worked as a freelance designer before joining It’s Nice That – A multi-media company which champions the most exciting and engaging work online, in-print (with their bi-annual magazine Printed Pages) and through their regular events programme. As well as his role at It’s Nice That, Will also continues to work as a freelance creative for a range of brands and musicians including working closely on the global visual campaign for Norwegian artist, Sigrid (recently named BBC Music’s Sound of 2018).
