Stuart McCowan started out in radio for Central FM in Stirling, before joining BBC Radio Scotland. He then went on to become half of The Aaron & Stuart Morning Show in northern California, where he also took on the role of News and Public Affairs Director and Production Director.

Stuart’s career in film began in 1999, when he was approached by Academy Award-winning Sound Designer Randy Thom and offered an apprenticeship, leading to full-time employment at George Lucas’ state-of-the-art Skywalker Sound in California.

Working in all aspects of post-production sound, as a supervisor and an editor, Stuart has worked on some of the biggest box office successes of all time, including Avatar, Lincoln, Super 8 and The Simpsons Movie.

Stuart continues to work on both sides of the Atlantic, both independently and with Skywalker Sound. Having won an Emmy award in 2014 for his work on Sherlock, he is in high demand, with a number of high profile projects in the pipeline, including Jurassic World and Star Wars: Episode VII.
