THE SOUND OF STORY: HOWARD BARGROFF

SATURDAY 6 DECEMBER 2014
LIGHTHOUSE, BRIGHTON

THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF SOUND DUBBING - WORKSHOP

An opportunity to get deeper into the post-production sound mixing process, illustrated with clips, demonstrations and anecdotes from one of the UK's leading sound practitioners.

Howard Bargroff’s many film and TV credits include Sherlock, Ill Manors, Luther and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

With a degree in Electronic Engineering, Howard started his audio life as a technical engineer at the legendary Sarm Studios in West London, going on to cut his teeth behind the mixing desk as an assistant and house engineer.

A sidestep into the post audio world at Dolby introduced him to the world of film, after which he honed his mixing skills in film and television as an assistant mixer at De Lane Lea and Future Post, and a dubbing mixer at Videosonics.

Going on to develop a successful career independently, Howard then set up his own post-production sound company, Sonorous Post, which he runs in tandem with a busy freelance career.

Howard has received various industry accolades for his work, including a BAFTA TV award for his work on Sherlock, and Primetime Emmy and BAFTA nominations for various projects.
