MUSIC AND THE SOUNDTRACK - WORKSHOP
Film and television composer Stuart Earl took part in a workshop during Lighthouse's December event The Sound of Story.
Before going on to study composition at the National Film & Television School, Stuart Earl read music at Oxford University.
He has scored various award-winning features which have premiered at major international film festivals such as Sundance, London Film Festival, Berlinale and Edinburgh. Credits include Lilting, My Brother The Devil and In Our Name.
With an established career in TV drama, highlights include Channel 4’s Babylon (exec produced by Danny Boyle), Mayday (a five-part series for BBC1) and the International Emmy award-winning Black Mirror (series 1, The Entire History Of You).
Stuart’s short film work includes the BAFTA-nominated Keeping Up With the Joneses, produced through the BFI Shorts scheme managed and executive produced by Lighthouse. He also scored another two BFI Shorts: Field Study and Gutpunch.
Stuart has also written music for theatre, working on productions at the National Theatre (The Shed), The Royal Court and The Young Vic. This includes the award-winning production of A Doll’s House, which transferred to London’s West End (Duke of York’s Theatre) and New York (BAM).
Selected as one of Skillset’s Trailblazers in 2009, Stuart was also one of Screen International’s Stars Of Tomorrow in 2012.
Stuart took part in the Music and the Soundtrack workshop with music supervisor Connie Farr, to provide expertise and guidance on all aspects of working with original and licensed music.
