Date: 20 – 23 August 2018
Venue: Lighthouse, Brighton
Drop off: 10am
Pick up: 3pm
Tickets: £140 for 4 days + booking fee

Join graphic novelist and professional nerd, Daniel Locke for a series of creative workshops to lead you through the making of your own unique paper and pencil role-playing game.

The course will take you from the deep interior of Sussex’s ancient forests to distant possible futures, full of wild technologies and new ways of living. These journeys will be made in your own imaginations as you are led through the various elements involved in creating your gaming universe.

You will learn what a tabletop role-playing game is and how it is constructed. You will create archetypal player characters, develop and write scenarios and full adventures, create elaborate illustrated maps of fantastical villages and cities of your own invention and learn various drawing, creative writing and model making skills.

At the end of the course, you will take home your work, which will be comprised of a finished, unique, playable tabletop role playing game.

These workshops are part of a larger programme of events being run over the course of the summer in collaboration with Sussex University. The workshop themes are being taken from the ideas surrounding contemporary ecology and rewilding.
