A day of digital technology workshops for people with learning disabilities

Lighthouse is pleased to host an exciting edition of SprungDigi - a project which works to encourage creativity and a connection with the world using digital technology. At this one-day event, learning disabled artists will work with other digital artists to take their artwork to new places and platforms, and express themselves in surprising new ways.

SprungDigi is a digital leadership mentoring programme for learning disabled artists from Brighton, Guildford and Horsham. Through workshops, mentoring and creating new work, the programme empowers learning disabled artists to explore the creative potential of the digital space.

SprungDigi is curated and produced by Sarah Pickthall and collaborators, shaped by learning disabled artists, and presented in partnership with Lighthouse. The SprungDigi team previously produced the epic Blue Touchpaper in 2012 and the digital mapping app Mapfactor, which used the expertise of local disabled people to make easy-to-understand maps for outdoor arts events.

SprungDigi provides opportunities for participants learn new techniques and gain experience of how digital technology is influencing the following disciplines:
- Music and voice
- Filming, streaming and mapping
- Dance and movement
- Gaming and visual art
