Sound Hunter workshop for kids

In this free children’s workshop, sound artist Fedde ten Berge introduces some of the sound artworks and instruments that he’s built.

Our team is closely following the situation related to the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus. For the safety of our team, artists and attendants we have rescheduled The Space in Sound programme for September. The Sound Hunter workshop, that was set to take place at Lighthouse on 24th March is now rescheduled for 17th September 2020, the time and place will remain the same.

Your purchased tickets are still valid and will be transferred to the rearranged date. If you are no longer able to attend, please request a refund through Eventbrite or contact for assistance.

We have not taken this decision lightly, but believe it to be the best for the sake of the community to make proactive changes while we have the chance to reduce health risks to artists, guests and everyone connected to our events.

We hope that you will join us in September for what will be an incredible, inspiring and, above all, safe event.

In this free children’s workshop, sound artist Fedde ten Berge introduces some of the sound artworks and instruments that he’s built.

A hands-on learning experience, the children will produce digital and analogue sounds with water, a tree trunk, electromagnetic fields, feathers and snares, bringing together technology and craft.

The children learn about vibrating materials, sensor processing and transforming sound electronically, allowing them to explore completely new worlds of sound.

Throughout the session, participants will combine different layers of sound to make a song, teaching the importance of listening and attention for each other while making music, as well as new tools for experimentation and creativity.

This is a workshop for children 7-12 years old. Only 10 spaces are available so booking is essential. Please return the ticket if you are no longer able to attend.
