Workshop: Shooting 360°
A chance to explore the process of shooting in a 360°set up, looking at both the technical process and creative challenges and opportunities, including how placement and perspective within the space can impact on storytelling.
Michael Ford is a producer of VR and drama, and the founder of Infinite Wisdom Studios and Explore360. He heads an award-winning writing, directing and producing team with feature and television credits, together with 10 years of experience creating traditional branded content for the likes of Jaguar, Oxfam, Sony and The Ministry of Justice.
In 2009, Michael scooped a Royal Television Society Award for ‘Best Fictional Drama’ short and in 2014, co-financed children’s favourite Pudsey the Dog: The Movie (2014) with Vertigo Films and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Entertainment. The film went on to become one of the top 20 UK independent films of the year at the UK box office. His next release is the innovative drama BASE, and he is currently developing a number of projects including an original children’s sci-fi drama for BBC; a digital action series with Japanese gaming giant Bandai Namco (PacMan, Tekken); and several VR narrative adventures. Michael is being mentored by Andrew Macdonald (Trainspotting, Dredd, Ex Machina) as an alumni of Guiding Lights.

Reframed brings together leaders and innovators from the fields of film, games, sound, contemporary arts and media to explore emerging practices within the realm of immersive and interactive storytelling.
Aimed at those wanting to learn more about designing and producing interactive and/or immersive work, Reframed will shine a light on the intrinsic and underlying principles of non-linear and interactive narratives, and the platforms and technologies which best serve them across different types of projects.
Reframed is produced in partnership with Creative England and supported by the University of Brighton.
