REASONS TO BE CREATIVE WORKSHOPS

REASONS TO BE CREATIVE IS A CONFERENCE FOR WEB DESIGNERS, CODERS, & ANYONE WITH A CREATIVE MIND.

SUNDAY 31 AUGUST 2014
BRIGHTON

LIGHTHOUSE IS PROUD TO HOST TWO WORKSHOPS FOR REASONS TO BE CREATIVE 2014, BY SOME OF THE MOST RESPECTED MINDS IN THEIR FIELDS.

Reasons brings together the best in art, design, code, & inspiration, and is a fantastic 3 days of education and inspiration.

Reasons to be Creative returns to Brighton again. This year Lighthouse is hosting two exciting workshops on the Sunday before the conference. Workshop details are as follows:

Advanced Front-End Development with Ben Bodien
Ben Bodien is Co-Founder of Neutron Creations and a front-end development specialist, and sometimes dabbler in interface design (when there are no grown-ups around to stop him).

This full-day workshop will teach you how to approach larger front-end projects methodically, and how to avoid bloated software chaos.

Arduino & Raspberry Pi for Devs: Getting Physical is not a Crime with Stacey Mulcahy and Dave Sheinkopf
Stacey Mulcahy is a technical evangelist with Microsoft for Windows 8. Prior, she was the Lead Developer working with a variety of technologies at Big Spaceship, a digital agency based out of Brooklyn, NY.
Dave Sheinkopf taught in the NY school system for 10 years and spent the last 5 of those years developing a curriculum for teaching analog and digital electronics to high school students in order to prepare them for life in an increasingly-technified world.

This class will demystify the physical connection between your computer and the world at large. We’ll experiment with motors, speakers, and LED’s in order to illustrate the many possibilities of simple digital outputs.

Date: Sunday 31 August 2014
Venue: Lighthouse, 28 Kensington Street, Brighton BN1 4AJ
Booking: via Reasons to be Creative
