ABOUT QM RECORDS

QM Records is a Brighton based label/events company founded and ran by Ned and Nicholson from band Normanton Street. Started in 2013 QM Records has been prominent in the Brighton and London scenes representing a DIY ethos with artist development and event promotion.

The Label began from a brainstorm before a Normanton Street EP launch in which the idea was birthed to start an imprint. Firstly QM Records acted as the administrative arm of Normanton Street but coincidentally grew into a discovery platform for new local Brighton talent, and established itself in the events space.

The label host regular events in venues such as the Green Door Store, Mesmerist, Patterns, and Seven Stars amongst other places. The label expanded to London hosting regular events at Hoxton Bar and Grill, Old Blue Last amongst other venues. Looking to build on from this foundation QM are actively looking at expanding event operations in the UK, Europe and further afield within. Relationship with organisations in Paris, New York, and Gothenburg have played an instrumental role in opening the door to new audiences for some of the QM artists too.

QM put out a string on Normanton Street EPs such as Phoebe Freya, Much Respect and Life’s Real between 2014 and 2016. QM put out Tommy Sissons first EP Etchings 2014 and followed it up with his debut album earlier this year We Were All Mud and Halos. QM released Chloe Bodur’s debut single Glory earlier this year, Littlehampton Rapper Taff’s debut single ‘Take A hit’, Mrisi’s debut EP ‘Mamela’, recently released a new EP from Normanton Street called ‘Long Road’.

Other artists releases coming before the end of this summer will be Bobbie Johnson, Francesca Fulmini and some new music from Mrisi.

QM Records believe in building artists steadily and helping build solid foundations. The Label believes in the ethos of a village rather than just the individual and is building towards a summer of celebrations to mark the 5th year of the label’s existence.

This project is part of Re-imagine Europe, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
