LAST DANCE: CDR WORKSHOP WITH PEACH DISCS
FIND OUT HOW SHANTI CELESTE AND HODGE MAKE THEIR SOUNDS
24 February 2018
PART OF SHANTI CELESTE’S ‘CURATED BY’ SERIES AT PATTERNS
Shanti Celeste and Hodge show us how they make the sounds that have placed them firmly at the centre of Bristol’s dance music scene.
During the workshop, producers Shanti and Hodge will deconstruct their music and share their creative processes and working practices. There will also be a Q&A and a chance for local producers to play their own tracks.
Lauded for her fresh approach to creating music, Shanti takes influence from across house, disco, techno and electro, releasing numerous singles and EPs on labels Idle Hands, BRSTL (a label she co-runs) and her own label Peach Discs, which she founded last year. As a promoter she has curated underground parties House and Lewd in Bristol. The CDR workshop runs alongside Shanti’s Peach Party residency at Patterns, Brighton, where she will be curating four events this year.
“Contemporary UK house at its very best” – Resident Advisor on Shanti Celeste.
Joining Shanti is DJ and producer Hodge, who has quickly secured a unique position in UK techno and house music, with high-energy productions and DJ sets that veer into the darker and more dystopian edges of techno. Having also come up on the Bristol scene, Hodge has had a run of releases on labels Livity Sound, Hotline Recordings, Berceuse Heroique and Hemlock Recordings.
Date: Saturday 24 February 2018
Venue: Lighthouse, 28 Kensington Street, Brighton, BN1 4AJ
Tickets: Free, but you must register to attend the workshop.
