The Film London Jarman Award is an annual prize inspired by one of Britain’s most innovative, esteemed and controversial artists of the late 20th century, Derek Jarman. Celebrating the spirit of experimentation, imagination and inspiration in the work of UK artist film-makers, The Jarman Award recognises individual artist film-makers whose risk-taking work resists boundaries and conventional definition.

The winner of the annual prize, which is presented by Film London in partnership with Channel 4 and the Whitechapel Gallery, receives a £10,000 cash prize as well as a broadcast commission for Channel 4’s Random Acts strand.

The winner of the Jarman Award for 2012 will be announced at a special event on 5 November at London’s Whitechapel Gallery.

More information on the Jarman Award can be found via the Film London website
