ELIJAH AT IAM WEEKEND 17
CONNECTING THE FUTURES OF MEDIA, LEARNING AND THE ARTS
27-30 April 2017
ELIJAH HEADS TO BARCELONA TO TALK ABOUT BRITISH YOUTH CULTURE IN A HYPERCONNECTED WORLD
This year’s IAM Weekend focuses on utopias as a useful and provocative tool to invent better futures in the internet age.
Through a series of talks, workshops, creative showcases and commissioned projects, the event explores how the convergence of media, education and the arts can radically improve how we live, learn, communicate, work and play.
As part of Last Dance, Lighthouse Associate Artistic Director, Elijah will join some of the brightest thinkers and most influential figures from the world of digital arts and media speaking at the event. In a talk hosted by Crack magazine, he will discuss grime and British youth culture in the hyperconnected age.
Other speakers include Amal Khalaf (Projects Curator, Serpentine Galleries; Commissioning Editor Project, Ibraaz; Co-founder, GCC Collective), Nathan Jurgenson (Social media theorist; Editor-in-Chief, Real Life Magazine; Researcher, Snapchat), Amani Al-Khatahtbeh (Editor-in-chief, Muslimgirl.com; Columnist, Forbes; Host, MTV #Uncovered), Vanessa Wruble (Former Director of Operations, Women’s March; Founder, Okayafrica).
The final schedule, including the dates and times for Elijah’s talk, will be announced in early April. Check the IAM WEEKEND 17 website for updates.
