Interfusion is the 2017 graduate show of the University of Brighton’s MA Digital Media Arts course.
This year’s artists explore the human relationship with technology, individualism and perspective, through film, animation, virtual reality, augmented reality and interactive installation.
ARTISTS & PROJECTS
JIE XIONG – ILLUSTRATOR
Project: Mural uses projection technology to explore the intrinsic connection between drawing and technology, incorporating traditional Chinese imagery to bring the artist’s unique perspective to the work.
CHRIS REYNOLDS – DIGITAL ARTIST
Project: Transference uses augmented reality to explore the impact of new media on our usage of mobile devices, creating the potential for individuals to connect past and future lives, nature, technology and the mind.
SALLY HENRY – ILLUSTRATOR | PRINT
Project: Interactive + Immersive Matrix Installation is based on The Vector Equilibrium(VE), which represents a perfect condition when energy comes to a state of absolute equilibrium.
DIEGO SANUDO – DIGITAL CREATIVE
Project: Who Is In Control? is a retrospective on ‘image’ utilising materials appropriated from pop culture and the media.
OLGA BOLKISIEVA – FILM | DIGITAL ART
Project: Visionary Forms is a multi-screen video installation. It is also a conceptual film presented in a series of abstract video sequences. Through multiple screens the installation explores possibilities, intercommunicating narrations and the structure of the cinematic experience.
DAMIAN EVAN-JONES – CREATIVE ARTS
Project: The Other Place explores the world of virtual reality, and the potential that it offers to escape the ordinary, and explore impossible and fantastical realms.
DANIEL ASHLEY – DIGITAL ARTIST
Project: Reflections explores human sexuality and intimate relationships in the age of digital media technologies to challenge people’s ideas about the importance of these technologies in shaping us today, and in the future.
FELIX GONÇALEZ – FILMMAKER | CREATIVE
Project: Digital Faith
