Learn how to draw, animate, and create engaging interactive content

Lighthouse is pleased to be hosting this Creative JavaScript course taught by Seb Lee-Delisle, covering truly beautiful visual effects with JavaScript and HTML5. Learn how to draw, animate, and create engaging interactive content, with advanced mouse interactions, pixel manipulation, image blending, physics and games.

Seb’s workshop was a delight… it is a must-attend: you’ll need these skills as a developer, but also you learn that it’s not nearly as hard as it looks.” – Paul Irish

CreativeJS 2D

We’ll start off with the basics of rendering into an HTML5 canvas, and animating simple objects with tweening, realtime easing and sequencing. We’ll then learn how to simulate physics without rocket science. And what better way to use physics than to make a particle system with sparks, smoke and explosions? Then we’ll explore how we can use these new found skills to make games.

These courses work equally well for programmers and designers. Whether you’re a coder who is excited about working with visual interactivity, or a designer who’s worked with basic JavaScript you’ll love learning creative code techniques.

NB this course no longer features 3D techniques – this has been expanded into its own course : CreativeJS 3D.

Seb Lee-Delisle is a creative coder, speaker and teacher, working across platforms including JavaScript, Processing and openFrameworks. He works to bring people together with large scale installations like PixelPhones, interactive firework displays or glow-stick voting systems.
