Lighthouse in association with the BFI Film Fund and Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival presents: 'BFI Shorts - The Bigger Picture'

BFI Shorts was a high-level production scheme designed for emerging filmmakers in the UK to demonstrate their potential to make features. Last year, 17 ambitious projects spanning a range of genres were chosen from nearly 1000 proposals. After films started to appear on the international festival circuit, filmmakers and executives from the scheme spoke about its ambitions and the lessons learnt.

Featuring exclusive clips and behind-the-scenes footage, this event provided valuable insight into the challenge of upping your game, and the creative and production processes involved in making films with big impact, and the ability to entertain global audiences.

The panel guests included:

Chris Collins – Senior Development & Production Executive, BFI
Eva Weber – Director of Field Study
Jamie Stone – Writer/Director of Orbit Ever After
Emily Kyriakides – Senior Producer, Lighthouse and Executive Producer, BFI Shorts
