ART AT WORK - CAREERING AROUND THE CITY

THURSDAY 5 FEBRUARY 2015
BRIGHTON

Arts organisations across the city open their doors for a day of inspiring activities for school children

In partnership with the Aldridge Foundation and Photoworks, we’re delivering Art at Work a two-year arts education programme for students at the Brighton & Portslade Aldridge Community Academies.

Students from BACA and PACA showed their final work as part of Brighton Photo Biennial.

Since March 2013, Art at Work has been providing students at the two academies with the opportunity to gain real understanding of how to become a creative professional through a range of first hand experiences.

Careering Around the City will give 200 students the opportunity to find out about arts organisations around Brighton, using a specially created mapping app by SCRAMBOO. The app functions as a game, giving participants questions to answer, people to meet and tasks to complete, with students working in teams, scoring points as they find organisations from across the creative industries in a treasure trail type experience.

Lighthouse is proud to be one of the organisations across the city to open their doors to help inspire the next generation. Following on from the day, Art at Work will establish a digital legacy from the tour that will become a useful tool to organisations, individuals, schools, students and parents alike.
