- - - - - - - - making art matter
The Making Art Matter commission took the shape of a new digital art work focusing on public spaces, environments, architecture and light.
The project was designed to capture the imagination of the public through innovative use of technology and projection in real spaces.
The planning stage began in November 2000, culminating in the exhibition of work in the second half of 2001. The commission was made available to one central artist with three support residencies leading a programme of educational work.
Lighthouse worked in partnership with Photoworks, a production agency based in Kent who commission new work, organise exhibitions and publish books to develop a progressive photographic culture in the region.
The commission was funded by South East Arts and the Lighthouse Production fund.
