At the core of virtually all moving image design are two fundamental components - image and sound. This course examines the magic that happens when they meet. Investigate the tools and techniques used to synthesize the two, from mapping audio dynamics and building music-led narratives to creating audio-triggered graphics using expressions. Deconstruct working examples, experiment with advanced tools including expressions and scripts, and also look at some of the real-time/live mix software and hardware tools used to combine audio and visuals, including Isadora and Modul8.
This course is a rare opportunity to explore this area and gain creative insights into processes that have a wide range of applications, from ident design to video art installations.
