GUIDING LIGHTS 8 MENTEES: HIGHLIGHTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
It’s been a busy and successful year for the 17 film directors, producers, writers and exhibitors who took part in the eighth edition of Guiding Lights during 2016-2017. We look back at their recent achievements and exciting new projects, and hear about their highlights from the scheme.
For three weeks in March, we were joined by Dr Wen Wen from Shenzhen University as part of the Hello Shenzhen bilateral exchange programme, which aims to build stronger links between UK and Chinese making practices.
SCREEN TRAINING IRELAND TO SUPPORT AN IRISH WRITER ON GUIDING LIGHTS 2017
We're pleased to announce that Screen Training Ireland, part of Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB), is supporting an Irish writer to participate in the ninth edition of Guiding Lights, the UK’s most prestigious film mentoring scheme.
After three years as Artistic Director at Lighthouse, Juha van ’t Zelfde is to relocate to his Netherlands base, joining Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam as Course Director of Shadow Channel, a new MFA in Film, Design and Propaganda.
Lighthouse is one of seven UK hosts taking part in the British Council’s Hello Shenzhen exchange programme, which will see makers from the UK and China working in each other's countries, sharing ways of working, collaborating and making.
For the fourth consecutive year, de Appel arts centre and Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art have teamed up to offer a six-part crash course in contemporary art. For the second time, Lighthouse artistic director Juha van 't Zelfde contributed with a two-hour presentation on art and technology.
