MEET OUR NEW PROJECT MANAGERS

16 November 2017

Lighthouse continues to expand its exciting programme and we are pleased to welcome Bex Fidler and Jamila Prowse as Project Managers for Viral and Last Dance.

Bex Fidler, Project Manager – Viral

Bex is project managing Viral, Lighthouse’s new two-year programme of mentoring and creative and professional development for 16-24 year-olds based in Brighton and Hove.

Bex is an experienced creative producer, project manager and facilitator across professional arts, outreach and education. As Creative Learning Manager at Brighton Dome she began, and continues to manage, Miss Represented, a project working with young women to effect personal and social change through the arts. She also ran SPECTRUM, a scheme showcasing the best of Brighton’s musical talent. With an MA in Applied Theatre and specialising in working with young people from challenging circumstances, Bex has a strong belief in the power of the arts to make a positive impact on people’s lives.

Jamila Prowse, Project Manager – Last Dance

Jamila is working alongside Lighthouse’s Associate Artistic Director, Elijah, and manages the Last Dance programme – a series of live events, podcasts, films and blogs investigating the rapid changes affecting UK club culture.

Jamila is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Typical Girls, an alternative women’s publication which showcases the work of female creatives. She also works across the arts as a freelancer in roles spanning project management, events management, digital communications, facilitation and curation. In 2016, Jamila was an emerging curator at Brighton Photo Fringe. With a BA in Art History, she is predominantly interested in representation and accessibility within the arts sector. At Lighthouse, Jamila hopes to encourage young people from a variety of backgrounds to engage with Last Dance and the broader arts sector.

Alli Beddoes, Artistic Director & CEO says:

Viral and Last Dance are ambitious projects that aim to cross boundaries and disciplines; I am thrilled that Bex and Jamila have joined the team to bring this work into realisation. Both bring energy, intelligence and alternative approaches to working with audiences. They are fantastic additions to the Lighthouse team and our forward programme.
