HOUSE 2015: Artist commissioning opportunity

27 January 2015

Open call for artist proposals for HOUSE Festival - apply by 23 January 2015.

HOUSE is Brighton & Hove’s curated and commissioned visual arts event that takes place every May as part of Brighton Festival. New work is commissioned every year and exhibited in unusual spaces throughout the city.

The festival is now inviting proposals from artists based in the South East (including London). The brief is open to works in any medium, to be located across the city and making a connection with both the location and a major new work by this year’s Invited Artist.

The theme of Edge & Shift encourages artists to explore political shifts and attitudes and more universal ideas around the monumental and the absent, portraiture and representation, space and occupation.

Now in its seventh year, HOUSE takes place from May 2 – 24 and is curated by Celia Davies, director of Photoworks.

Lighthouse is working in partnership with HOUSE 2015.

For more information and how to apply see the HOUSE 2015 website.

Deadline for submissions: January 23.
