Firmly established as the UK film industry’s leading mentoring programme, we are looking for a group of talented writers, directors and producers to take part in a sixth round of the scheme, due to launch in July 2014. This year, we will also be including three exhibition professionals, working in the South East of England.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 5pm, Monday 31 March 2014

Successful applicants will benefit from 9 months of one-to-one mentor support from a leading practitioner in their field. A number of industry training and networking events will also take place alongside the mentoring.

Previous mentors include Danny Boyle, Sam Mendes, Barbara Broccoli, Paul Greengrass, Tim Bevan, Abi Morgan, Alex Garland, Joanna Hogg, Kenneth Branagh, Alison Owen, Stephen Frears, Nira Park and Nick Hornby.

Guiding Lights is run by Lighthouse, and majority funded by the Creative Skillset Film Skills Fund which is funded by the National Lottery via the BFI, and through the Skills Investment Fund (SIF). This year we are also partnering with Film Hub South East (FHSE) – part of the BFI Film Audience Network (FAN), to support the participation of the exhibition professionals.

For further information about the scheme, eligibility criteria and application process, please visit the Guiding Lights home page.

We welcome applications from across the community and will provide financial assistance to those who require it for pre-agreed travel, subsistence and childcare costs. We are also able to facilitate access for deaf and disabled people.
