Lighthouse Studio sits at the centre of our research and development ambition, acting as a production engine and test bed for interdisciplinary practice. Launched in 2014, the Studio has hosted a multitude of diverse artists, coders, designers, researchers and thinkers, whose work focuses on the impact of new technologies on our lives. Amongst them are Georgina Voss, Coralie Gourguechon, Philo van Kemenade, Elhum Shakerifar and May Abdalla.

In 2015, we will expand our programme with new international partnerships, beginning with Finland. In collaboration with HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme and the Finnish Institute in London, we will select one artist from Finland for a three-month residency at Lighthouse. Lighthouse offers a working space for the artist and an opportunity to present their practice as part of Lighthouse’s programme of public events. The residency in Brighton will take place in September – November, 2015.

Lighthouse works with artists, makers and thinkers at the leading edge of contemporary practice and research, such as Metahaven, Holly Herndon, Basia Lewandowska Cummings, Kuedo, Elijah, Lars TCF Holdhus, Eleni Ikoniadou, Jananne al-Ani, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Hito Steyerl and Nathan Jurgenson. This new international collaboration strengthens our mission to support, connect and share emerging creatives in the field of art, film, music and the myriad of other new forms of cultural creativity that explore the effects of new technologies on our lives.

The deadline for applications is 31 March 2015. Read more about the residency and how to apply at the HIAP website.
