Animation Storyboarding - Application Deadline: 13 Jan 09 Following the success of a pilot scheme completed in 2007, we are delighted to announce that we are now accepting applications for our Animation Storyboarding course. Under the expert guidance of course tutors Temple Clark and Giles Thacker, this is an opportunity for six storyboard artists or animators to develop a thorough understanding of traditional storyboarding practices and learn to use a range of digital tools to both facilitate the storyboarding process and to create basic animatics (moving storyboards) from their boards. The course comprises a series of six Brighton-based residential workshops run over a period of four months. By the end of this period it is intended that participants will have diversified and enhanced their skills base and employment options, as well as producing paper and digital storyboards for inclusion in their portfolios. This course is supported by the Skillset Film Skills Fund. More... 2. Last Chance to Burrow! Reviving Isolation - Aya Fukami at Permanent Gallery 10 January - 8 February 09 Preview: Friday 9 January 6 - 9PM Permanent Gallery is pleased to present Reviving Isolation, a new multifarious installation by Aya Fukami. “Everything runs from the past to the future, but everything should live by the present, for in the future the apple-trees will shed their blossom.” from Kasimir Malevich, "From Cubism and Futurism to Suprematism: The New Realism in Painting" (1916) Returning to the playground of abstraction, Reviving Isolation re-imagines an avant-garde, conjoining radical geometry with the organic, a lightness of touch and humour. Primary shapes and colours flit about, celebrating form and object relations through slight quotation and a sense of mischief. An especially commissioned booklet and series of events accompanies the exhibition. More: www.permanentgallery.com 2.
