Artist Simon Poulter views one of his unusual creations at an exhibition called Microhenge, currently on display at the Hastings Museum and Art Gallery. Using a massive steel construction and a range of digital images, Mr Poulter’s work offers visitors a major multi-media experience. The exhibition continues until July 4.

Marvel at Multi-Media

A major multi-media experience is on offer to visitors at the Hastings Museum and Art Gallery.

Microhenge, which has been keeping audiences entertained this week, is a high-tech interactive show offering glimpses of past and future. Using a massive steel construction and a range of digital images, artist Simon Poulter creates a Stonehenge for the 21st Century.

Microhenge forms part of Hastings Museum and Art gallery’s commemoration of TV pionee
John Logie Baird’s first transmission in Hastings. Those first blurred images were
themselves a monumental moment in the quest to achieve virtual reality - as explored by Microhenge. Now Poulter’s exhibition uses digital imagery to confront past and present.

Visitors can walk through the steel ‘stones’ surrounded by visual images and can also
access the Microhenge website on www.microhenge.com.

The exhibition launches Event Coast, a series of five multi-media exhibitions along the
south coast this year and next. A celebration of communication, the series is funded by
the Arts Council of England’s Artist’s Film and Video Lottery Fund.

Microhenge is open until July 4, from 10am-5pm on weekdays, 10am-1pm and 2-5pm on Saturdays and 3-5pm on Sundays. Entry is free
