Art on the Net was an artists in residence in rural schools project funded through South East Arts as part of the New Audiences - Regional Challenge Programme. The Residencies were based in art departments in four secondary schools in the South East area and involved five artists, two working together in one school. The project was managed by Lighthouse, Brighton Media Centre and co-ordinated by Terry Taylor.

The participating artists and teachers were:

Shona Illingworth, video artist, working with Miles Jeffcoate, art teacher and Kieth Parrera, media teacher at Beacon Community College, Crowborough, East Sussex;
Malcolm Buchanan-Dick, sculptor, working with Tony Carroll, head of art, Ifield Community College, West Sussex;
David Barnett and Judy Gordan, known as Montage Theatre, performance artists working with Sue Pritchard, head of art, Swadelands School, Lenham, Kent;
Terry Taylor, photographic artist, working with Chris Bell, head of art, Chailey School, East Sussex.
