Sarah Brocklehurst – Producer
Sarah is a BAFTA-nominated producer and Screen International ‘Star of Tomorrow’. Starting her career in theatre, she worked in the Producers’ Department of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and then as Apprentice Producer to Sonia Friedman on award-winning West End and Broadway productions.
Sarah’s first feature film, Black Pond, directed by Will Sharpe and Tom Kingsley, was nominated for the BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer, and also received nominations at the British Independent Film Awards, Guardian First Film Award and Raindance Festival. The film won the London Comedy Festival Discovery Award as well as the Evening Standard Award for Best Newcomers.
Sarah’s development slate includes: the dark teen comedy Weird, with BAFTA-winning director Tim Kirkby and ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ & Brit List writers Henrietta and Jessica Ashworth, supported by the BFI; and an adaptation of Emma Jane Unsworth’s hit novel Animals (chosen as one of Lena Dunham’s favourite books of 2015), supported by the BFI NET.WORK and due to be directed by Sophie Hyde (who won best director at Sundance for 52 Tuesdays), and starring Holliday Grainger.
