Chris Shepherd – Director

Chris Shepherd has directed and written projects for Channel 4, BBC, Arte and Canal+ and has previously worked with the likes of Graham Linehan, Arthur Mathews and Chris Morris. Working in both animation and live action, he has directed many internationally acclaimed shorts as well as TV series.

He has been nominated twice for a BAFTA Film Award, including for his multi-award-wining short Dad’s Dead, which also won a British Independent Film Award. His most recent short, Johnno’s Dead, won Best Short awards at Brest European Film Festival, London International Animation Festival, Aesthetica and the Crystal Palace International Film Festival.

He is currently directing a new comedy animation short for Arte about Brexit and preparing for his first feature called Snodgrass with Creative England. He has several features in development including coming of age script Anfield Road.

The Blaine Brothers write, direct and edit for film and TV. Their debut feature Nina Forever won the BIFA for ‘Most Promising Newcomer’ in 2015. They are currently developing Applecross, with David Livingstone of Calamity Films (Pride), which offers a modern day feminist revision of the mythology of witches, and The Painter, a spy thriller which will be their second feature film with producer Cassandra Sigsgaard. They were mentored by Director Gillies MacKinnon (Small Faces, Trojan Eddie, Pure) through Guiding Lights in 2006.
