Chi Thai – Producer
Chi is a Vietnamese born, British raised filmmaker. She studied at the Northern Film School where she was awarded the BSKYB Scholarship for Producing, and was an invited participant to the NFTS Producer’s Masterclass. As a commercials producer she has been a Cannes Lions finalist three times over. Light Years a short which she wrote and produced qualified for BAFTA and Academy Award consideration and has competed at top tier festivals. In 2009, she was finalist at the British Council’s UK Young Screen Entrepreneur Awards; the jury said, (which included Duncan Kenworthy) “Enthusiasm personified, Chi has a strong track record in raising finance and support for her varied projects, for which she is clearly passionate. She is a future caster in terms of the opportunities raised by the ever-increasing empowerment of individuals in content creation.”
Chi works across fiction and factual. She currently has several films in her roster including; China Blues, which is funded by Creative England, Hot Knife, which was developed with Screen Yorkshire and won their annual collaboration development lab Triangle in 2014.
