Catryn Ramasut – Producer

Catryn’s broad production experience spans radio, television, journalism, advertising and film. She is Managing Director of Cardiff based, bilingual production company ie ie productions, which she founded in 2005 with musician Gruff Rhys to produce their debut feature documentary Separado!

Since then, ie ie productions has established a global reputation for producing award-winning, creative and challenging cultural content, which aims to educate and stimulate an audience of increasingly sophisticated and demanding media users at home and abroad.

Recent projects include: the award-winning, multi-platform – film, book, album, app and website – project American Interior (2014), which documents Gruff Rhys’ musical odyssey, retracing the fantastical American journey of his 18th Century relative, the explorer John Evans; and Queerama, the retelling of the relationships, desires, fears and expressions of gay men and women throughout the 20th Century, which opened Sheffield International Documentary Film Festival in June 2017.

In 2015 ie ie productions was awarded company support from Ffilm Cymru Wales and in 2016 Catryn received the prestigious BFI Vision 3 Award to further expand her female-focused organisation and develop a slate of features.
