Aleem Khan – Director
Raised in Kent, Aleem is a writer-director of mixed English/Pakistani heritage, living in London. He studied Film Directing at The University of Westminster before shooting his debut short, Diana, which went on to screen at more than 30 festivals internationally, winning Best UK Short at the Iris Prize Festival and the Jury Award for Best Short Film at The Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival.
Aleem’s latest short film, Three Brothers, was commissioned by the BFI and Film London on the inaugural London Calling Plus scheme. The film premiered at The BFI London Film Festival and toured the festival circuit before going on to be nominated for a BAFTA for Best British Short Film in 2015.
In 2015 Aleem was selected to take part in the first BFI Flare Development Scheme, where he was mentored by Ben Roberts, Head of the BFI Film Fund. Later that year, he was named one of Screen International’s Stars of Tomorrow.
Aleem is currently in development with Creative England on his debut feature, After Love, which is being produced by The Bureau Film Company.
